We report a domino protocol for the synthesis of furanyl 1,2-diketones from dialkynyl-1,6-diols. This one-step approach combines cyclization and oxidation, providing a streamlined and easy-to-perform synthetic route. The reaction has a broad substrate scope, accommodating both symmetrical and unsymmetrical 1,6-diols with various substituents on the aromatic rings. Consistently high regioselectivity is observed, according to the electronic properties of aromatics. Additionally, the method is successfully applied to the one-pot synthesis of substituted 2-(furan-2-yl)quinoxalines, demonstrating its utility in the rapid construction of complex heterocyclic structures.

Abstract
We report a domino protocol for the synthesis of furanyl 1,2-diketones from dialkynyl-1,6-diols. This one-step approach combines cyclization and oxidation, providing a streamlined and easy-to-perform synthetic route. The reaction has a broad substrate scope, accommodating both symmetrical and unsymmetrical 1,6-diols with various substituents on the aromatic rings. Consistently high regioselectivity is observed, according to the electronic properties of aromatics. Additionally, the method is successfully applied to the one-pot synthesis of substituted 2-(furan-2-yl)quinoxalines, demonstrating its utility in the rapid construction of complex heterocyclic structures.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
