Sculptor Hendrik Christian Andersen’s bronze works preserved inside his house-muse-um represent a perfect collection of samples for the study of some of the artistic industrial foundries active in Italy in the early decades of the 20th century. Indeed, for the casting of his first works, the artist turned to some of the main foundries active in the cities of Rome and Naples. Later his attention was drawn to other foundries abroad and by 1911 he established a connection with the Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik of Geislingen, in Germany.

Abstract
