Abstract The analysis of the figure of the partisan, as an irregular soldier, can be appropriately combined with that of the “discriminatory concept of war” to deepen and clarify the general notions of war and enmity. From this perspective, the shift from the figure of the “true enemy” to that of the “absolute enemy” expresses the radicalization of hostility and brings Carl Schmitt's concept of the “political” to the forefront, fostering a greater understanding and highlighting its complexities.
