SHORT NOTES ON PORT STATE CONTROL The author analyses the instrument of Port State Control in the Montego Bay Con-vention with particular regard to the relations between the competences of the Port State, the Coastal and the Flag State. Attention is paid to the European legislation of Directive 2009/16/EC, its implementation into Italian law by Legislative Decree no. 53 of 24 March 2011, as well as to the judgment of the Court of Justice of the European Union of 1 August 2022 (Cases C-14/21 and C-15/21).
