The obligations of the freight forwarder and the evolution of the regulatory framework The author analyses the discipline of the freight forwarding contract as pro- vided for in the Italian Civil Code, taking into account the amendments introduced by Decree-Law November 6, 2021, No. 152, converted with amendments by Law December 29, 2021, No. 233. In particular, it addresses the topics of the content of the freight forwarding contract and its distinction from the contract of carriage, the obligations and the rights of the freight forwarder, the notion of ancillary services to the conclusion of the contract of carriage, as well as the elements that characterize the figure of the freight forwarder carrier. Particular attention is given to case law application.
