The author focuses on the functioning of Regulation (EC) No 392/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2009 on the liability of carriers of passengers by sea in the event of accidents and to the problems of the referral to pertinent provisions of the Convention of Athens of 1974 regarding the carriage of passengers and their luggage by sea, amended by the 2002 Protocol, in relation with Regulation (EU) No 1215/2021of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 December 2012 on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters.
