Abstract
The tourism sector, and in particular the cruise industry, is among those most affected by the economic crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The main measures adopted by the Italian Government to contain the effects of the spread of coronavirus infection, that significantly affected maritime passenger traffic, are analysed in the article. The health protocols concerning all the operational prescriptions that cruise operators are required to observe, both on board ships and ashore, to guarantee high safety standards at every stage of the journey are also examined. In fact, shipping companies have already started to test the new health measures to be applied to all aspects of the cruise ship experience, endorsing their effectiveness, and hoping for measures to support the sector for a faster restart in the spirit of environmental sustainability.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
