In Hobbesian architecture, the consideration of language, though transversally, crosses and penetrates the global texture of philosophical and political thinking. Logical space is constructed as a linguistic space. And the definition of names has become the starting point for all science and all reasoning. The connection between the word, reason and knowledge plays a decisive role in the construction of the political dimension. The artificial and conventional character of language has its pragmatic function, similarly the political state and the sovereign language are united by the fact of representing an artificial order opposed to individual arbitrariness. The correct use of a common political language and the denunciation of the dangers connected with linguistic abuse, such as sedition, the circulation of false and distorted opinions, the demagogic use of rhetoric, represent a point of radical modernity of Hobbes, and still today a danger to political order and democratic communication, as the contemporary phenomenon of fake news.
