The scientific paper analyses the Dir. 2014/94/EU on the deployment of alternative fuels in-frastructure, as implemented in Italy by the Legislative Decree No. 257 of December 16, 2016, in a comparative perspective with the provisions of Law No. 84/1994 in light of the changes that have tak-en place regarding energy and environmental sustainability. The aforementioned analysis, which therefore concerns the context of maritime transport and ports, is extended to the application of European State aid legislation to Directive 2014/94/EU. Moreover, some initiatives of the Italian Port Authorities (AdSP) regarding the development of an alternative fuels infrastructure are analysed, also from the point of view of the relative financing. In a broader perspective, the scientific paper also focuses on the issue concerning the application of Dir. 2014/94/EU to pleasure boating. Il presente lavoro analizza la disciplina di cui alla dir. 2014/94/Ue sulla realizza-zione di un’infrastruttura per i combustibili alternativi, come attuata in Italia ad opera del d. lgs. 16 dicembre 2016 n. 257, in una prospettiva di approfondimento comparato con quanto stabilito dalla legge n. 84/1994 alla luce delle modifiche intervenute in mate-ria di sostenibilità energetica ed ambientale. La predetta analisi, che quindi si inserisce nel contesto del trasporto marittimo e della portualità, è estesa all’approfondimento dei riflessi della normativa europea in ma-teria di aiuti di Stato sulla dir. 2014/94/Ue. L’indagine è anche condotta attraverso la disamina di alcune iniziative adottate delle Autorità di sistema portuale (AdSP) in ordi-ne alla realizzazione e al finanziamento di una infrastruttura per i combustibili alternati-vi. In una prospettiva più ampia, il contributo si sofferma, altresì, sulla problematica concernente l’applicazione della dir. 2014/94/Ue alla nautica da diporto.
