The debate around the so-called human rights, an expression not without some kind of ambiguity, requires, first of all, an evaluation pause on that genitive: who is the subject of imputation of the regulatory rule becomes question about the identity of the legal and political subject and inexorably reopens the question of the ontological and ethical status of that constitution of subjectivity. This methodological perspective is based on the multiplication of personal rights, and on images of a subjectivity without strong references. About this Paul Ricoeur offers us a rich and jagged speculative itinerary, of which I would propose one of the anchor points of his investigation that concerns law, ethics and politics: the Self and its Other are the protagonists of the ethical-juridical norm and demand the “right distance” to order human plurality in an onto-relational sense. A process that involves the identity of the subject in its intersubjective structures and symbolic dimensions; so it radiates in the relationship between Ethics, Politics and Law.
