This paper aims to analyse the evolution of farms specializing in the production of typical products of the Mediterranean Diet. More precisely, emphasis is laid on farms that are involved in production qualification according to the perspective of multifunctionality in agriculture. The level of farm specialization is analysed and the percentage incidence of MD products is estimated in order to evaluate whether transition towards multifunctional agriculture has started. Results vary greatly in the different areas under investigation, thereby showing that the transition process has not been completed yet.

The level of farm specialization is analysed and the percentage incidence of MD products is estimated in order to evaluate whether transition towards multifunctional agriculture has started. Results vary greatly in the different areas under investigation, thereby showing that the transition process has not been completed yet.
