In the present research 27 Italian Holstein Frisian cows homogeneous for parities, body condition and milk yield were used. The animals were divided in two groups control (C) and treated (T) and a Total Mixed Ration were fed. The treated group received at close up (last 30 days) until calving a dietary supplementation with Selenium (3,5 mg of sodium-selenite) and Zinc (500 mg). The dietary treatment has no influence on milk yield. Milk fat percentage was greater (P<0,05) in the treated group. GPX activity shows a significant difference between the groups. The capacity of ROS production ability of PMNs shows a decreasing at calving and at 7 and 14 days of lactation.

Abstract
In the present research 27 Italian Holstein Frisian cows homogeneous for parities, body condition and milk yield were used. The animals were divided in two groups control (C) and treated (T) and a Total Mixed Ration were fed. The treated group received at close up (last 30 days) until calving a dietary supplementation with Selenium (3,5 mg of sodium-selenite) and Zinc (500 mg). The dietary treatment has no influence on milk yield. Milk fat percentage was greater (P<0,05) in the treated group. GPX activity shows a significant difference between the groups. The capacity of ROS production ability of PMNs shows a decreasing at calving and at 7 and 14 days of lactation.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
