This essay focuses on the ambivalence of the current scenario of globalised information: if on one hand the violations of human rights undoubtedly have more possibilities to emerge, on the other hand, censorship can still block those possibilities, or their possible effects can be thwarted by a plurality of different factors. Among these factors, this study stresses on the fact that often, even when information circulate they are unable to stimulate the action, blocked by a widespread “compassion crisis”, as well as by persisting “states of denial”. In the current scenario of globalised information the risk is to be simple spectators: we are happy to be informed without realising that we refrain from deciding and acting.

Abstract
This essay focuses on the ambivalence of the current scenario of globalised information: if on one hand the violations of human rights undoubtedly have more possibilities to emerge, on the other hand, censorship can still block those possibilities, or their possible effects can be thwarted by a plurality of different factors. Among these factors, this study stresses on the fact that often, even when information circulate they are unable to stimulate the action, blocked by a widespread “compassion crisis”, as well as by persisting “states of denial”. In the current scenario of globalised information the risk is to be simple spectators: we are happy to be informed without realising that we refrain from deciding and acting.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
