The present invention relates to new compositions and methods for the prevention and treatment of the esca disease of grapevine, in particular it relates to compositions and methods for the containment the manifestation of symptoms on the epigeal apparatus of said disease of grapevine, in particular in the forms of the esca groups wherein such symptoms consist in a typical chlorine-necrosis in the internerval spaces on the leaves giving them the appellative of "striped leaves", and on the berries in specific purple notches and dieback of varying severity which could involve whole fields of the canopy.
