The training of LIS/LIST trainers, interpreters, and Communication Assistants presents several challenges in relation to the assessment of deafness and respect for the natural rights of the Deaf. There is a lack of clear guidelines on interpreter training within universities. Questions regarding the involvement of Deaf LIS teachers, as well as the training and recognition of Communication Assistants, remain unresolved.
