Medieval sources claim that the court of the Kingdom of Càlari, originally itinerant, in the 13th century settled in the center of Santa Ilia / Igia / Cecilia, probably located on the shore of the pond of Santa Gilla west of the current city of Cagliari. One of the previously privileged seats of the calatariana court was Pluminus, which in the 12th century gave its name to the State, forgetting the previus derived from the ancient city of Carales, capital of the Byzantine Province.
