Abstract

The family is the first place where values, traditions and cultures are transmitted and is based on the interaction between biological ties, affective relationships, religious archetypes and social constraints. Besides being a reproduction place, care and growth of its members, the family is functionally aimed to attainment of integral human development of each individual member. Although in today's society the family aggregate would appear to be increasingly shaped by the needs and interests of its members, the underlying bond of solidarity must also be stressed. This is the duty of one to another into family consortium, in which, to mutual moral and material aid, the solidarity claims a deep ethic revisiting in light of socio-cultural metamorphosis and the new family models that have gradually spread in today's society.
