Abstract

The increase in the world population, changes in eating habits and urbanization increase the depletion of natural resources. This determines the urgent need to use the land better and in a more sustainable way. In a multifunctional vision, this work analyzes two agricultural systems, an open pasture and a silvopastoral system, in relation to the heat stress of the animals during three years in Esteros de Iberá (Corrientes). The incorporation of trees should improve microclimatic conditions, generating a positive impact on the welfare and productivity of animals and encouraging double productive land use. The following were analyzed: temperature, relative humidity and temperature and humidity index, using the latter as an indicator of stress in production. Differences were found between the seasons of the year in both production systems, but no differences were found between the two production systems./El aumento de la población mundial, los cambios en los hábitos alimentarios y la urbanización aumentan el agotamiento de los recursos naturales.
