The essay returns to the history of the Levaillant-Kammermann Swiss art collection, with particular reference to the historical reconstruction of the possible contacts, even non-direct contacts, that the founder of the collection, Ernst Levaillant, had with a number of late 19th century painters, some of whose works subsequently found their way into the Kammermann family properties. Among these painters was certainly the Swiss painter Ferdinand Hodler, who resided in Geneva, not far from Levaillant's home, at the turn of the 19th century.
Il saggio torna sulla storia della collezione d’arte svizzera Levaillant-Kammermann, con particolare riferimento alla ricostruzione storica dei possibili contatti, anche non diretti, che il fondatore della raccolta, Ernst Levaillant, ebbe con alcuni pittori tardo-ottocenteschi di cui alcune opere sono convogliate successivamente nelle proprietà della famiglia Kammermann. Tra questi autori, sicuramente ci fu il pittore svizzero Ferdinand Hodler, che risiedette a Ginevra, non lontano dall’abitazione di Levaillant, a cavallo tra la fine del XIX secolo e l’inizio del successivo.
