Thanks to a comprehensive diagnostic investigation of more than fifty paintings belonging to the Swiss art collection of the Kammermann family, the essay analyses the legal events surrounding the seizure of these works of art, possible forgeries, and the legitimacy of their provenance. What emerges is a historical reconstruction that sheds light on all the errors and omissions that occurred during the decades-long trial, which ended with the return of the entire collection whose authenticity and provenance could not be declared.
Grazie a una completa indagine diagnostica condotta su più di cinquanta dipinti appartenenti alla collezione d’arte svizzera della famiglia Kammermann, il saggio analizza le vicende giudiziarie legate al sequestro di queste opere d’arte, alle eventuali falsificazioni e alla legittimità della provenienza. Ne emerge una ricostruzione storica che mette in luce tutti gli errori e le omissioni occorsi durante i decenni di processo, concluso con la restituzione dell’intera collezione della quale fu impossibile dichiarare l’autenticità e ricostruirne la provenienza.
